The first stage in dentistry is disinfection and sterilisation. All functions of the
dental units used in our clinic are controlled by foot. For this reason, the physician's
hand does not touch the control panel while working on the patient and thus surface
sterilisation is maintained throughout the procedure. Every part on the unit touched by
the physician's hand can be removed and sterilised in autoclave.
After each patient, the instruments used are washed with plenty of water and kept in
disinfectant solution, then bagged and sterilised in autoclave. Saliva absorbers are
discarded after each patient. The suction hoses connected to the machine are cleaned by
passing disinfectant solutions through them.
